When Is World Health Day 2021?

As you know World Health Day is celebrated globally on April 7 every year, under the sponsorship of (WHO) World Health Organisation. In the year 1948, WHO organized its first World Health Assembly which decided to celebrate World Health Day every year on 7th April starting from 1950.

Each year, the World Health Organization (WHO) selects a subject that highlights a particular priority area of ​​public health. The theme of this year’s Global Health Awareness Day is the creation of a fair, healthy world.

WHO – The campaign highlights a constitutional principle of WHO that “the enjoyment of the highest attainable standard of health is one of the fundamental rights of every human being, irrespective of race, religion, political belief, economic or social status.”

Significance of World Health Day 2021

Health is not only about physical well-being, but also about mental and social aspects. A person is said to be healthy if he or she has all three. According to the WHO, health is central to human happiness and well-being. It also contributes significantly to economic progress, as healthy populations live longer and are more productive.

Millions of people worldwide are victims of many terrible diseases. Therefore, World Health Day is celebrated every year to raise awareness about the overall health and well-being of people all over the world.

When we talk about good health, we understand that there are four important pillars that should be addressed – nutrition, staying physically active, sound sleep, and emotional health. When all these four pillars are well taken care of, we see patients capable of good health and reversing their disease. 

Over the past five years, I have had detailed conversations with and interacted with thousands of patients. During this journey, I have learned important lessons about long-term change and success for my patients and individuals.

Healthy Habit on World Health Day 2021

Today, on the occasion of World Health Day, I want to share 5 key lessons that build good health even in adverse conditions.

1. Mindset cases: 

We are working extensively with patients who are suffering from diabetes, high BP, fatty liver, elevated cholesterol, thyroid, and various lifestyle-related diseases. And those who were able to completely reverse these issues were those who felt that all such diseases were not lifelong but lifestyle diseases. Such a mindset helped them to focus on reversing the management of the disease.

2. Habits instead of diet: 

Although the right food and nutrition were central to the reverse stories of our patients, none of those who are reversing their lifestyle diseases felt that they were following any diet. Rather, they considered their meal plans as a change in habits, Choosing healthy choices over unhealthy people. He ate outside and enjoyed it at once, but he always focused on building good habits every single day. After all, eating right, getting the right sleep, and having a healthy lifestyle were his habits that helped him achieve and maintain good health for a long time.

3. Living in gratitude: 

As humans, we have only two options – the first is to live in the hormones of stress, fear and anxiety, while the second is to live in the hormones of love, happiness, and gratitude. An important change that we see in those who have reversed their illness and built up good health begins by becoming conscious of their emotional health. And once they became conscious of their thoughts and feelings, they began to become more grateful and happy rather than stressed and dissatisfied in life.

He started focusing on the things he does not have, but rather what he lacks. Improving his state of emotional health helped him get faster healing and overcome the lifestyle ailments he suffered from.

4. Being physically active: 

Most of the patients were leading a sedentary lifestyle before taking responsibility for their health. And perhaps in their journey towards recovery, everyone realizes that “being active” is a very important habit to be involved in their day-to-day life. Be it thyroid, weight loss, diabetes, or high BP, regular walking or being active contributes a lot to the reversal of these diseases. Significant was not the number of his steps, but rather his consistency every single day.

5. Giving birth to addictions: 

Many patients with such diseases had an addiction to bad habits like tobacco or smoking, from diabetes, fatty liver to kidney issues, and cancer. And none of those, who did not reverse their illness or build good health, gave an excuse for becoming addicted to their addictions. He chose to grow up with his addictions. It may have taken him some time, but he finally gave up and sacrificed for something better and worthwhile.

It has always been inspiring to learn from real changes because if anyone can do it, we all can. We have seen these 5 common things over and over again in all patients who have actually reversed their illnesses and created good health.

  • Wash your hands before eating
